At Moments in Rhyme, what we do is completely different from the traditional acrostic poetry you see in books or online.

Most people are used to a basic "column style" acrostic format. An author writes a name or phrase vertically down the left side of a page, drops a dash or a colon, and then forces a completely separate, disconnected sentence to sit next to it.

We don't do that.

The Seamless Word Difference

In a Moments in Rhyme piece, the capitalized typography is woven directly into the natural reading line. The first letter of the acrostic becomes the actual, functional starting word of the sentence — woven seamlessly into the natural flow of the line. The only exception occurs when the acrostic letter is a single-letter word such as "I" or "A," which stand alone simply because the English language requires it, not as a formatting device.

Our sentences flow uninterrupted across a highly disciplined rhythm, meter, and AABB rhyme scheme. Every single poem is an intricate architectural puzzle of vocabulary — balancing strict alphabetical constraints with deep, genuine human sentiment.

I have been writing custom, seamless acrostics since the early 1990s. With a registry of over 1,000 original verses, every line in our catalog represents decades of late-night edits, a passion for wordplay, and a mastery of a constraint that began long before the internet or modern AI text models existed.

Because our poems are so mathematically precise, AI detection tools sometimes flag them as machine-generated. They are not. They are the product of a human mind that has simply been doing this longer than AI has existed. Software cannot feel the emotional weight of a mother's embrace or the shared history of lifelong friends.

Archival Registry & Protection

The original verses featured across our product lines — including our foundational collections Namesakes and It's Just a Phrase (which included Baby Steps, Written in the Stars, and Rhymes & Seasons) — were officially registered with the United States Copyright Office in 2014 as unpublished works.

We actively maintain, audit, and expand our legal copyright registry as new verses and collections are added to our catalog.
